ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Students at Bay College are raising money to help some very special athletes in their community.
The annual Chain of Love fundraiser is underway, hosted by the Bay College and Lake Superior State University Business Professionals of America Regional Center chapter. For $1, donors can write the name of a loved one on a slip of paper. Those slips will then become links in the growing Chain of Love.
The funds raised will go toward equipment, uniforms, and travel expenses for the Local Area 1 Special Olympics program.
“I used to have Special Olympics games at my high school a lot, and being able to see how happy this made the athletes was something very heartwarming to me,” said Bay College BPA Vice President Tregan Lippens. “Anything that can keep those athletes playing is a great cause to us.”
