Winter wonderland wishes at Pine Mountain Ski Resort: children and animals join Santa for selfies

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – In a heartwarming gathering at Pine Mountain Ski Resort, children from various local schools, including Greenlee Neuens of Pine Mountain Christian School, Carissa Anderson from KMS, and Lydia Sparapani from Woodland, along with adventurous snowboard mom Laura Bracket, shared their festive moments with Santa.

Bracket, the snowboard mom, proudly declared, “Lincoln’s our only kid, and he’s a good boy.” Meanwhile, young snowboarder Lincoln Burkle revealed his wishlist: “Mostly clothes and shoes and stuff. And a bunch of stuff, like a one-wheel.”

Even 4th-grade skier Gabe Taub chimed in, expressing his wishes on behalf of his new puppy, Potato,”Maybe a bone.” Taub, who started skiing at the tender age of one-and-a-half, is eager to tackle jumps and simply enjoys the thrill of speed on the slopes.

Local downhill daredevils from Kingsford Middle School, Woodland Elementary, and Pine Mountain Christian School unanimously echoed their love for speed and jumps, highlighting the fearless spirit of these winter thrill-seekers.

Ski enthusiast Lois Rochon from Kingsford humorously shared her Christmas wish, saying, “A Cadillac, OK. I better get a Lincoln instead of a Cadillac. Or my dad’ll come out of his grave. He worked for Ford all his life.”

When asked about his Christmas wish, Santa himself replied, “I would just like to have a healthy family.” The festive spirit continues despite the temporary closure of the main hill due to rainy conditions. The Bunny Hill remains open for lessons, with the resort expecting the main hill to re-open by December 30th. Other activities, including the New Year’s Eve fireworks and torchlight parade, are still scheduled for 7pm on Dec 31st.
