MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Holiday Shopping deals can be far and in between when Christmas nears the corner, but a local Marquette craft store is reminding shoppers that homemade gifts are always close by in the UP. At Amelia’s Craft Market and Boutique, over 30 local artists have their products for sale in the store, year-round.
In its second year of opening, Amelia’s goal is to provide a space where local creators can make a living doing what they love. On top of the holiday-themed creations, community members can also buy and customize T-shirts and homemade laser-cut ornaments that are sold year-round.
“There’s a wide variety to choose from we have them out all year round because when travelers come through they like to bring something home from Marquette Michigan it is very unique and it is very fun and it’s very special because no one is the same then right we all have our special touch,” commented Amelia’s Craft Market Store Manager Barbie Ward-Thomas.
Amelia’s also yearly presents what’s called an ‘Amelia’ bag, a completely wrapped Christmas gift with some surprise items for each customer.
