MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – As the holidays roll in, one tradition always has families grinning and children on the edge of their seats, awaiting the big man in red. It’s the Goodwill Tree Lighting Ceremony.
This year, Mediabrew Communications has teamed up with Goodwill to purchase the 31-foot artificial tree, which can be seen on U.S. 41 in between Applebees and Aspen Dental.
At the Westwood Mall Parking Lot on Monday, November 20th at 6:00 PM, families and friends can join in on the holiday festivities to watch Santa light off the Christmas tree and ignite your Christmas spirit.
Student dancers will perform, Marquette’s Super One will be providing hot dogs and Higher Love will be providing hot chocolate. This is all followed by Santa himself lighting the tree and maybe a couple of other visitors.
“Come out and enjoy a good time, said MediaBrew Lead Sales Manager Bill Tibor. “The Grinch is probably going to be making a visit– I don’t know, he’s been known to show up. If he does, we have the sheriff’s department there. We’ll take care of it, and you know what, let’s just make 2024 a great year.”
