NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 19 year old is running her own business, all while pursue higher education.
Savannah Sevegney opened Modern Drift Boutique on the corner of US-41 and Teal Lake Avenue in May. The store offers dresses, lotions, and a variety of local handmade jewelry, alongside other seasonal items.
Sevegney is also taking online college courses. She says running a store while being a college student has been challenging, but interacting with the local community has made it worth it.
“It has been really good! I have really been enjoying all the people, I love Negaunee, I feel like it’s a super special place and everybody knows each other,” said Sevegney.
Modern Drift Boutique is co-hosting a Ladies Night Dinner and Fashion Show on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. at Strega Nonna. For $60, patrons will receive a four-course meal and admission to the fashion show. Tickets can be purchased here.
Modern Drift Boutique is open 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
