MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Menominee County man died in a ORV crash last Friday, Nov. 3 that left another person injured.
The county sheriff’s office says it happened just after 6 p.m. on Number 10 Rd in Menominee Township.
Deputies reported a side-by-side appeared to have hit a deer before leaving the roadway, hitting a utility pole, and rolling. The crash also knocked down power lines.
One occupant, identified at 60-year-old Ralph E. Vanpool Sr. of Wallace, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police- Iron Mountain Post, Menominee Police Department, Menominee-Ingallston Fire Department, Bay Area Paramedics, Menominee County 911, and Wisconsin Public Service.
