Winter Storm causes icy conditions; power outages throughout Marquette County

by Scott Minshall

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Snowfall throughout the day Tuesday has caused traffic backup and icy conditions on roadways.

Motorists are encouraged to take extra time when traveling and allow city and county crews to work as they clear roads.

Portions of Washington Street in Downtown Marquette lost power Tuesday morning but had service quickly restored. As of 12:53pm the Marquette Board of Light and Power were assessing 49 outages across the city.

WZMQ has reached out to the MBLP for comment on when power issues relating to the snowfall will be restored.
