MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Local business in the UP is getting a closer look with a recent market study. Along with the help of Michigan Works and the MADC, Invest UP was able to publish the first labor market study done in the UP.
On a county-by-county basis, the market study gives local business owners, educational programs, and even bigger corporations a better analysis of their local economy. Invest UP CEO noted that the study gives local businesses an insight into market needs, customer base, and a general overview of developing each industry in the region.
“One of the things that we saw here is there’s definitely a challenge and a need for continuing training for most upper peninsula counties if we can manage some additional resources into that sector there’s a real opportunity for growth around entrepreneurship and innovation,” commented Invest UP CEO Marty Fitante.
The study also provides a lot of insight for entrepreneurs who are just starting out and still finding the right niche to develop their careers.
