ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Saturday, November 4, Bay College is hosting a new event for pop culture fanatics.

The “BAY-CON Presents: Pop-Culture Show” will feature more than 70 vendor displays with a variety of collector’s items, from vinyl records and vintage toys to original artwork and video games both old and new. The event will take place inside the Joseph Heirman University Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.

According to Dave Laur, executive director of student life at Bay College, the show is sure to take attendees back to a simpler time.

“It’s always fun to see folks find that toy that they used to have as a kid and, even just for a moment, they’re six again,” Laur said. “It’s almost like a mini time travel, and it’s really special to see that. Everybody who’s looking for some fun gifts for the holiday season or looking for that special record for their collection, this is the place for you.”

Vendor registration is still open for the “BAY-CON Presents: Pop-Culture Show.” To apply, contact Laur at dave.laur@baycollege.edu. For more information on the show, click here.

The college will host its annual spring BAY-CON event, “RETURN OF THE BAY-CON,” on April 20, 2024.

The public is also invited to events at Bay College this weekend.

On Friday, October 27, the Student Nurses Association and EMT/Paramedic Club will host Trunk or Treat. It will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in parking lot A and is free to the public.

Bay College is hosting Laser Tag on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28, in Joseph Heirman University Center Room 952. Tickets cost $5 per hour of play and are available at the Bay College Box Office. Click here for more information.
