MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The popular scenic Presque Isle Park in Marquette is receiving some new updates. The park will be getting a new archway installed at the entrance of the park after the old archway was taken down by a passing truck.
Presque Isle has always been a staple of beauty and attraction for the residents and visitors of Marquette, and the city hopes the new archway will represent that.
“It just stands out as a place you wanna go so people really appreciate having the arch there and having it not there people have noticed so we’ve gotten a lot of phone calls and lots of outreach lots of explaining but it’s coming back,” commented Marquette’s Director of Community Services Jon Swenson.
The city notes that the new archway has already been built and is expected to be installed it Wednesday, October 25th.
