SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A severe ATV crash occurred at approximately 1:19 a.m. on September 24, involving a 2022 Polaris Razer traveling eastbound on Turner Road. The ATV veered off the roadway, resulting in the vehicle rolling and colliding with a tree.
A 20-year-old man from Iron Mountain was critically injured in the crash. Deputies responded to an automated emergency alert from an Apple iPhone, which provided the coordinates of the scene.
The Sagola Fire Department, STAR Ambulance, Integrity Ambulance, and Town and Country towing services were all involved in the response efforts.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances that led to the incident. The injured individual was transported to U.P. Health System in Marquette for critical medical care.
