MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man is hospitalized and charges are pending after an officer-involved shooting Thursday evening.
Michigan State Police say it happened around 7 p.m. during a traffic stop on US-41 in Marquette County. Troopers were trying to arrest the unidentified suspect on a felony warrant when the shooting occurred. It is unclear at this time what led to the shooting.
Troopers administered first aid at the scene before the suspect was taken to UP Health System Marquette for treatment of his injuries.
No troopers were injured. The incident remains under investigation.
