ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Escanaba High School Football boosters are beginning a campaign to raise money for much needed stadium renovations.
The $400,000 project will include overhauling the current bleachers at the stadium which date back to the 1950s. The Eskymo fan club is organizing the project. Donations are being accepted from anyone who would like to help support the project. The goal of $400,000 will fund the bleacher portion of the project but organizers hope they can exceed that target. Remaining funds will go towards various other projects around the school’s athletic facility.
According to Escanaba High School the renovations will make watching games more enjoyable and help with on field performance.
“Having the crowds that are receptive and involved in the sporting event itself, the players feed off of that, the coaches feed off of that, they love having the people there behind them and cheering them on,” remarked Nate Zaremba, the Escanaba Senior and Junior High athletic director.
Zaremba says he hopes the bleacher project will be completed within the next two years. To donate to the Project visit Eskymofanclub.org or click here.
