ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Escanaba Public Safety fire crews quickly extinguished a large fire at an industrial business in Escanaba late Friday morning.
EPS says it happened around 11:25 a.m. at A&L Iron and Metal, located at 2500 9th Ave. North.
An officer on patrol in the area noticed thick, black smoke coming from the business’s vicinity. The officer found it was coming from a pile of scrap metal behind the business.
Firefighters quickly put the fire out with no injuries.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Ford River Volunteer Fire Department and Delta County Central Dispatch.
