MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Saturday, July 29th at 2:29 AM The Marquette Police were dispatched to the area of North Third Street near West Michigan Street for a vehicle pedestrian collision.
The officers made contact with two individuals that were struck by the suspect vehicle, the report stated several others were nearly hit as well. One of the pedestrians was taken to UP Health Systems- Marquette, while the other declined treatment.
The suspect is 27 year-old Jared Thomas Hunt, Marquette Police found him injured, lying outside of his vehicle on West Ridge Street where he was reported to have struck a parked vehicle.
Hunt was taken to UPHS as well and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – Causing Serious Injury and was provided a personal recognizance bond to receive treatment for his injuries.
His arraignment date is set for August 7th at 8:15 am
