MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Artists and coordinators are getting Mattson lower Harbor park ready for the 63rd annual Art on the Rocks art show. The events Director, Tristan Luoma, said it feels good to be back again in full force just two years after the pandemic.
This Saturday and Sunday, over 100 artists will take over the park with everything from sculptures and glass work to paintings and jewelry. Artists are traveling from as far as California and New Mexico to display their work at this weekends fair.
Luoma says it’s always amazing to be able to bring so many artists to Marquette for the weekend and be a part of this busy season for The UP. He said seeing everyone’s excitement on Saturday is always fun, but Sundays are his favorite.
“Sunday is the day that you can kind of sit back and the artists have all had their experiences, you can talk to them.” Luoma said. “It’s a little more casual and just really exciting to be able to send it off and see their excitement and see and hear the attendees excitement.”
Art on The Rocks is open to the public, and will take place on Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm in Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.
