MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Over 40 local vendors were set up on Washington Street in downtown Marquette tonight for the first Wednesday Downtown Farmers Market of the year.
The market is making its Washington Street debut this year, changing locations from the marquette commons.organizers say the switch has been extremely beneficial, adding 30 vendors after announcing the location change.
Down at the market you can find everything from vegetables to handmade jewelry.
“I love that they opened up the street, I think it’s very helpful to the businesses, I was just talking about this is the only time they are open after 5 p.m I think that draws in a lot of people,” remarked Kelsey Clark the owner of Last Bite Bakery.
The market runs every Wednesday throughout the summer from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.
