HOUGHTON, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday night, the copper country was celebrating its 2023 Annual Bridgefest Celebration, the cities Houghton and Hancock are marking 63 Years of the Portage Lift Bridge connecting both communities.
The parade was filled with over 50 floats, some performing live music, and even robots walking through the parade. Through the weekend the community can enjoy more events like the waterski shows, live performances, and even laser tag.
“Yea, we have a ski show coming in at 2-2:30 right at the waterfront. They’re gonna do anything from pyramids to flips to people on shoulders it’s pretty amazing what they can do in the water and stay up on those skis,” commented Event Coordinator Katie Schlief.
