It’s National Buy a Musical Instrument Day

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Summer has finally poked through and so have the tunes with National Buy a Musical Instrument Day! The school year has ended and it might be the time to clean up those clarinet valves, replace those strings or even purchase a new musical instrument altogether.

Jim’s Music on 3rd St. offers a free month of lessons with any purchase of a new instrument.

“Well I think there’s a very personable touch here I see a lot of the same customers that come through here and they’re regular customers buying instruments from guitars and woodwinds I definitely think it helps to have a shop around here that you can buy some of the bigger equipment, especially as far as amps go,” said Technician Benjamin Gronvall.

The shop also carries a wide selection of vintage instruments that they say keep the regulars and new shoppers coming in even with a rise in shipping costs.

On June 17th, the shop will have its 3rd annual swap meet sale where the community can buy, sell, or trade their own gear.

On June 21st, Jims Music in Marquette will also be hosting its tent sale.
