ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – At around 5:05 pm on May 13th, 2023 in Wells Township, Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to a brush fire along with Michigan DNR Wildland firefighters.
A garbage pile fire got out of control and spread to a wooded area that also had old hay bales. It took approximately 2 hours to extinguish the fire and no injuries were reported.
The Escanaba Township Volunteer Firefighters and Delta County Central Dispatch assisted Escanaba Public Safety Department and the DNR.
