ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Great Lakes Recovery Center is transforming its newest location in Negaunee into the John Kivela Center, creating a regional behavioral health campus for residents of Marquette County. The finished project will have a new residential treatment facility for women with substance use disorders.
“They will also be able to bring their children here and we’ll be able to provide them detox services as well then once they step down from that they’ll be able to go right down the hall to our women’s recovery house and women will be able to bring their children there as well,” said GLRC Community Relations and Marketing Manager Amy Poirier.
It will offer outpatient counseling as well as youth psychiatric care for those in need.
Renovations are expected to be fully finished by July or early August.
“Someplace where individuals can come to get all of their healthcare needs, oftentimes when people come into residential treatment they might not have a doctor of their own here when their right here on site they can just walk down the hall to get the medical care that they need,” continued Poirier.
Anyone looking for care can reach the access center here or by calling 906 228-9696.
