MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The body of a missing kayaker was recovered in Marquette’s Lower Harbor Sunday night.
Michigan State Police say troopers received a missing person complaint around 8:50 p.m. Sunday. Information led troopers to believe the person went kayaking at Lower Harbor.
Troopers, along with the U.S. Coast Guard and Marquette Police Department, searched for the missing kayaker. They located an unoccupied kayak that had washed ashore. They then found the man’s body close by in the water.
Troopers say the unidentified man was in his early 30s. No foul play is suspected.
