906 Adventure Team moving in

by Michelle Duder

906 Adventure Team has a new home in the heart of Marquette.

Taking possession just two days ago, they are currently operating on folding tables and chairs until the furniture donated by Ashley Furniture arrives.

After 9 years of existence and operating out of the home, Director Todd Poquette couldn’t be happier with this nonprofit’s growth.

Todd Poquette said, “this property, this space and this mission, this is an investment in Marquette’s future, an investment in the people of Marquette.  You are not going to find that on the City’s financial ledger., but it’s going to have a real impact, for decades to come.”

Poquette says they envision this space to help create a blueprint for other communities to visit and learn from them how they operate, in hopes they can take that back and replicated it in their own communities.

An official open house is anticipated for this spring followed by breaking ground for the community playground planned for the acres of green space in their backyard.
