MARQUETTE, MI (WZMQ) – One week from tonight, NMU’s cosmetology hosts Braids and Brews a free public event teaching families the art of braiding their children’s hair.
Welcoming all caretakers with school age children to join them from 5:30 – 8 pm to partake in a class teaching braiding techniques while bonding with your loved one.
Charmaine Goodlow, Student Instructor and Educator, “We just going to be teaching the dads and the fellas that are attending how to do, kinda the standard plats, the corn rows, which are the french braids attached to the scalp, halo braids, butterfly braids, just some really cute, simple braiding techniques, they can take home.”
Braiding techniques will be taught by faculty and students to all who attend followed by a pizza party and like the event name says brews for the adults meeting the meeting the minimum age requirement.
Although this is a free event, staff requests all interested to RSVP, so they can ensure to have enough supplies and of course, pizza! RSVP, by calling (906) 227-2383.
