MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 2023 Marquette Police and Firefighters ball took place Saturday (1/28) night at the Northern Center on Northern Michigan University’s campus. First responders from all over the county came together alongside community members to support the Police and Firefighters fund.
Drinks and food were served and guests were able to enjoy a night that helps to support first responders in Marquette. There was a silent auction and bucket raffles for guests to participate in. Auctioned items and raffle prizes were donated by local business’s.
The fund began in 2018 with the inaugural ball and has only grown since then. According to Ashley Musselman, the President of the fund, so far the fund has raised over $100,000. The money goes directly to local Police and Fire departments and is used to increase their ability to protect and serve the community.
This year the ball raised over $45,000 dollars in one night for first responders.
WZMQ TV19 is a proud sponsor of the Police and Firemen’s Ball.
