A sweeter tooth around the campfire

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Three U.P. businesses are partnering in Ishpeming to spark up new experiences in a workspace. What started as an idea to bring the community together in a space that suits all, has turned into reality.

“We met up with Doozers and they said hey we have a space, come check it out, just take a look”, said Campfire Coworks CoFounder Nicole Park.

Doozers, Campfire CoWorks, and Hot Plate will be launching new spaces in the Gossard Building. It is under construction with the hope that January is to be the opening month. “When we found this space it was really beautiful but it was really big too big”, said Co-Owner Daniel Morgan-Heredia.

Campfire Coworks currently hosts “Fired up Fridays” which is a night of networking and engagement, connecting people within the U.P. They plan to continue those events, and now with Doozers, they’re bringing some sweet treats to the conversation.

“I think it happened on a Friday…Malissa from Hot Plates was actually part of the conversation too”

Owner Daniel Morgan-Heredia, says they finally expanded to the point where they now need their own space, baking different treats and experimenting with new recipes. “So we wanted to be an option for folks to be able to have a space a place to go to, we have wifi and we have coffee”, said Park.

Doozers’ has been participating in the Marquette Farmers Market with its own stand. Daniel comments that the large space in the Gossard building will create a well-needed upgrade. Once it’s finished, families and friends can also take classes and watch demonstrations of the cookie-making process.

“We’re all learning and we all might have a skill that we could share or help each other with and I think that kinda goes back to what campfire is really all about, it’s the people that are what really makes it happen”, said Park.

Campfire CoWorks will have similar amenities for people as they do at the Marquette location, providing access to reliable wifi, and now a well-fed workspace. There has not been a date set up for the grand opening, however, Doozers hopes to be finished with construction in the new year.
