Tomorrow the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center will host an art reception for the Grids & Pixelation: Visual Poetry exhibit that will remain up until the end of the month.
The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and go until 8 p.m. in the Deo Gallery located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibit will feature weavings from Carol Irving and acrylic paintings of Michael Friend in a unique collaboration according to Tiina Morin, community services manager of arts and culture.
“The weavings look like paintings and the paintings look like weavings,” Morin said. “So a wonderful example of how two artists are working in two very different mediums but find inspiration to create images in similar ways.”
Morin said that all are welcomed to visit the exhibit as well as the art reception. For more information on the exhibit and the gallery, follow them on Facebook.
