The Marquette marathon took place this Saturday. Runners lined up at 7:30 am on Saturday to start their 26 mile journey from Ishpeming to Marquette.
Alongside the marathon run, a half marathon, marathon relay, and 5K all took place Saturday morning.
The average time for a marathon run is 4 and a half hours, this weekend’s quickest time was 2 and a half hours, a time set by Chris Scott of Libertyville, Illinois.
This year’s race had a record breaking number of participants, over 11,000 registered runners. A new course record was also set for the men’s half marathon, one hour and six minutes set by Charles Smogoleski from Eaton Rapids, MI.
