A missing Hancock Township resident was found alive and well, thanks to the Project Lifesaver program.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office said it happened Tuesday.
The 20 year old was found in less than 30 minutes.
Deputies located the signal on the lifesaver tracking device and tracked down the missing person through a little more than a half-mile of wooded hills.
Project Lifesaver is a search and rescue tool meant for families with loved ones with cognitive conditions who may be prone to wander.
Michigan DNR and Michigan State Police Calumet Post assisted in the search.
