‘Click It or Ticket’ Campaign Underway

The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning started its annual Click It or Ticket campaign earlier this week.

The statewide seat belt enforcement campaign started Monday and runs until June 5.

Drivers in Michigan could face a $65 fine for not wearing a seat belt.

Michigan law requires all front seat passengers and all passengers under the age of 15 in any seat to wear a seat belt.

The National Traffic Safety Administration estimates that nearly 15,000 lives across the country are saved by seat belts every year.
