The Big Bay Relay returns to Marquette County this weekend with runners taking a team approach to distance running.
The race starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at Marquette’s Kaufman Sports Complex and finishes at Draver Park in big bay.
Teams of five for adults or seven for youth teams will run the nearly 26-mile course with one runner taking a mile at a time.
The rest of the team will ride in a race vehicle until the baton is passed to the next runner.
Organizers ask drivers to watch for participants along County Road 550 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“Race in progress” signs will be posted along the route.
Participants and spectators can enjoy food from Bearded Lady Creations and music from Los Bromance Arrows at Draver Park after the race.
