Marquette City Police Department has promoted acting Captain Ryan Grim to police chief, the department announced Monday.
He started with the department in 2001 after he graduated from Northern Michigan University’s Regional Police Academy.
Grim held multiple roles with the police department over his career including training coordinator, accreditation manager and assistant harbor master.
He is a member of the Michigan Municipal League’s Law Enforcement Action Forum and a MLEAC accreditation assessor.
Grim replaces former police chief Blake Rieboldt, who retired earlier this month after a 28 year career in law enforcement.
