MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Friday wrapped up a three-day annual conference for emergency medical service providers in the Upper Peninsula.
The conference, put on by Platinum Educational Group, provides an opportunity for surrounding fire and EMS workers to network, train hands-on with one another, and keep their credentials up-to-date within the state.
This week, about 140 workers participated in the conference, coming from all corners of the Upper Peninsula, with some traveling from Wisconsin. Organizers say providing the event also allows for a morale boost for some of the toughest jobs out there.
“It’s not the most glamorous job, so we’re hoping to build that up and show that we’re here to help,” said Platinum Educational Group Brand Manager, Kelsey DeYoung. “[EMS] is something people need in their community.
The 2027 U.P. EMS Conference has been scheduled for September 9th through 11th at NMU’s Northern Center.
