ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – For the first time in two and a half decades, Delta County will soon have a new clerk.
Sitting Clerk Nancy Przewrocki has held the position since 2000. She is set to retire at the end of next week. On Thursday, Delta County Circuit Court Judge John Economopoulos appointed Susanne Dubord as her successor.
Dubord brings a strong base of knowledge and experience to the job, having served as the County’s chief deputy clerk for 17 years.
“I hope to be able to bring some continuity of service to this position and… to keep everything rolling along,” said Dubord.
“The duty of the county clerk is to really have a finger on the pulse of the people,” Economopoulos said before swearing Dubord in. “If the court is a people’s court, then the county clerk’s office is the people’s office. Having Sue in that capacity, serving, is something I feel wonderful about.”
Dubord will officially take over as clerk and register of deeds on October 3. One of her first major tasks will be managing the November general election.
