The League of Women Voters of Marquette County will be hosting a forum for the Marquette City Commission Candidates. Held at Lakeview Arena’s Citizens Forum, all eight candidates running for City Commission will have the opportunity to answer questions from residents of Marquette County.
The League of Women Voters will also hold a forum for the Ishpeming Mayor and City Council Elections at Ishpeming High School, the first time the organization has held a forum in Ishpeming Township.
“We had tremendous turnout for our primary forums, and this is an even bigger election,” said League of Women Voters of Marquette County Special Forum Coordinator Jo Foley. “It’s the first one that we’ve done in Ishpeming, and we’ve been wanting to reach out into outside of Marquette, because we’re a county wide organization.”
The forums for Marquette and Ishpeming will take place at 6 p.m. on September 23 and October 6, respectively.
