LANSING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Michigan communities will soon have an opportunity to apply for grant funding aimed at helping people struggling with substance use.
The Michigan State Police Grants and Community Services Division will begin accepting applications Tuesday, Sept. 1, for Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, or RSAT, programs.
The funding will support jail-based substance abuse treatment programs designed to help reduce substance use and provide people with resources to address addiction.
The grants are funded through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and are available to eligible units of government.
The fiscal year 2027 grant period runs from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027.
Applications must be submitted through Michigan State Police’s MGX grant management system by Sept. 21, 2026.
MSP will also hold office hours to help applicants navigate the MGX system and the application process.
