ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Escanaba resident suffered minor injuries in an early morning fire.
On Wednesday at 4:28 a.m., the Escanaba Public Safety Department was dispatched to a structure fire on 14th Avenue South. Dispatch advised that a camper and a vehicle were fully engulfed.
Public Safety units were able to quickly extinguish the fire, preventing further damage or spread to nearby dwellings. They were on scene for about two hours.
A male resident sustained minor injuries and was released by Rampart EMS. A family pet did not survive the fire.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted at the scene by the Ford River Fire Department and the Delta County Central Dispatch Center.
