HARRIS, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Sunday, The Island Resort & Casino temporarily halted operations due to a potential threat.
Witnesses stated that the casino entered a lockdown in the late afternoon. Around 8:45 p.m., The Island Resort & Casino published a Facebook post announcing that law enforcement had cleared the threat and confirmed there was “no ongoing danger.” The Island has since resumed normal operations.
“The safety of our guests and employees remains our top priority,” the post stated. “… We sincerely thank law enforcement for their quick response and thank our guests and employees for their patience, cooperation, and understanding.”
