NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The City of Negaunee kicked off its farmers market season Wednesday afternoon.
The first 2026 Farmer’s and Crafter’s market was held in Chiri Park, where several vendors gathered to sell their artwork, ceramics, and a handful of farmed and baked goods. While under a chance of rain, the park was still met with plenty of foot traffic.
Market Coordinator, Lisa Cory says Chiri Park is a great central location in town and will fill up as the season progresses.
“When you look at the park it looks smaller but when you’re in there, it’s larger than it seems. We’ll fill it up as the weeks go by,” she said.
The Negaunee markets are held each Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The Miner’s Market also returns this year with two more events planned through the summer. Those will be held June 11 and August 22 at Jackson Mine Park, and September 26 at Chiri Park. All of these markets will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. More information can be found here.
