NEWBERRY, Mich. (WZMQ) – On June 3, Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers arrested a woman for unlawfully entering a home in Newberry and stealing property from within the residence.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., MSP Sault Ste. Marie Post troopers were dispatched to John Street for a report of a subject who had allegedly entered a residence without permission and had stolen items from inside the home. Troopers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Gina Briggs of Newberry.
Troopers located Briggs and recovered the stolen property. She was arrested and lodged in the Luce County Jail.
On June 5, Briggs was arraigned on charges of second-degree home invasion. She was granted a personal recognizance bond, with tether and other standard conditions. Her next court date is scheduled for June 18.
