MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – A semi-truck driver has been arrested following a traffic stop on the Mackinac Bridge by the Michigan State Police (MSP),
On March 25, Police stopped 54-year-old Eric Koroscik of Kingwood, Texas, for speeding and operating in a dangerous manner. During the stop, a Motor Carrier Officer (MCO) from the MSP St. Ignace Post discovered Koroscik was in possession of numerous illegal weapons and did not have a Concealed Pistol License. The MCO also found that Koroscik had an active warrant for his arrest.
Koroscik was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Mackinac County Jail. The following items were seized:
• Fifteen double-edged knives, including three equipped with brass knuckle handles
• Two throwing stars, each with four double-edged sides
• Two additional sets of brass knuckles, including one spiked set
• Five loaded pistols
• One loaded rifle
• One shotgun
• One large double-edged sword with a 32-inch blade
In addition to the weapons violations, Koroscik was found to be in possession of two open containers of alcohol. An inspection of the commercial vehicle also indicated he had allegedly falsified his electronic logging device records.
On March 26, Koroscik was arraigned in the 92nd District Court in Mackinac County on one count of carrying a concealed weapon. He was issued a personal recognizance bond, and his next court appearance is scheduled for April 10. Additional charges are being sought for other applicable violations.
