MARQUETTE, Mich – The U.P. Hospice Foundation announced on Friday that they will be hosting a U.P.-wide Grief Support Conference.
In partnership with U.P. Home & Hospice and Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice, the foundation has been awarded a community pilot grant to host a regional conference on March 13th at the Northern Center located on the campus of Northern Michigan University. The conference is being held to offer grief support training to professionals and agencies that work directly with children and families dealing with grief.
The event is open to school districts, intermediate school districts (ISDs), counselors, social work departments, and hospice and healthcare organizations. Additionally, the conference will offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for nurses and social workers. This means that the conference training will count towards professional development requirements.
