MUNISING Mich. (WZMQ) – On Thursday evening, downtown Munising kicked off the Christmas season with its 2025 Rekindle the Spirit event.
The night began with a short parade down Superior Street, where Santa and friends were dropped off to meet with the community.
“It’s the whole opening for the holiday season for Munising,” said Kathy Reynolds, Executive Director of the Munising DDA. “We have Santa and local shopping, just getting downtown for a lot of things going on in such a short amount of time.”
Thursday night also marked the first day of the Rekindle the Spirit Grand Giveaway, where receipts from Alger County Businesses worth $50 or more can be entered through December 15 into an ongoing raffle. Each receipt brings a chance at over $8,000 in gift cards and other prizes from over 50 local organizations.
