Marquette, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new program is helping Upper Peninsula caregivers overcome financial barriers. The caregiver incentive project has launched the caregiver success fund, offering financial help for things like car repairs, child care, or training costs. The caregiver incentive project hopes to raise awareness as well as train home health care workers
“Paid caregivers, people who want to be caregivers, or family caregivers, or volunteers. All of you, if you care for somebody here in the U.P., go, take a look and see if we can help you financially, to incentivize you, to help you with your budget a little bit,” said Eric Paad, founder of the caregiver incentive project.
Paad went on to say he hopes, with proper training and support from the state, wages will increase, which will attract more people to the field.
