IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: At approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, an Ashland County search team and K9 found Frank Wilson dead roughly two miles from his vehicle. According to the Alger County Sheriff’s Office, no foul play is suspected.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Ironwood Township man with dementia.
On Thursday, August 21, the Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that 91-year-old Frank Wilson had been reported as missing. According to the post, Wilson left his home early that morning in a 2014 blue/gray Chevy Equinox, which is a family vehicle. He was believed to be in the area, but it was unknown which direction he was traveling.
Deputies continued searching through Sunday. Late that evening, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office reported that Wilson’s vehicle had been found in Morse, Wisconsin. Wilson was still missing at the time of that report.
Now, the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community for information. Wilson is described as a 5’9″ white male with blue eyes and gray hair. Anyone who has seen Wilson or who may have information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (906) 667-0203 or dial 911.
