MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Later this month, communities around the nation will be walking to end Alzheimer’s, but this morning Brookridge Heights Assisted Living and Memory Care in Marquette held a walk of their own with the 2nd annual 0.5K walk inside the facility.
Residents wore whacky costumes and instead of carb-loading with pasta, they did it with doughnuts and cookies.
Brookridge Heights Director of Sales and Marketing Lindsay Hemmila said they strive to give residents unique experiences.
“It’s popular because it’s different. We’re thinking out of the box to bring our residents something unique,” said Hemmila. “Yes bingo is fun, yes we play bingo here but who gets dressed up in wacky fun costumes to support a great cause and to bring joy to older people’s lives?”
