HEMATITE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – Two people from Wisconsin are dead and two others injured after a two-vehicle crash in Iron County Wednesday afternoon.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was called to US-141 near the intersection of Bates-Amasa Road around 1:27 p.m. A Chevrolet Cruze and a Chevrolet Silverado were both in the east ditch of the highway with extensive damage.
The 27-year-old male driver of the Cruze and his 30-year-old female passenger, both of Horicon, Wisc., were pronounced dead at the scene. A 15-year-old male passenger from Waupun, Wisc. was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Iron River and later transferred to Marshfield, Wisc. for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The lone occupant in the Silverado, a 21-year-old man from Pelkie, was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Iron River for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. No names have been released pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation.
