IRON RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Iron County Sheriff’s Office is reporting minor injuries following a two-car accident on Thursday morning.
According to their press release, a school bus was picking up a child near the Bates School when a Ford F-150, driven by a 48-year-old Bates Township resident, stopped behind them. Behind her, a 63-year-old Bates Township resident driving a Nissan Pathfinder failed to see the stopped bus or truck and crashed into her.
The driver and a passenger in the Pathfinder were taken to Aspirus Iron River for minor injuries, while the driver of the truck took private transportation. She also suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Pathfinder was given a citation for careless driving and the investigation is ongoing. No one from the school bus or any children were involved in the crash.
