BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A 16 year old could be facing an OWI charge after crashing into a power pole, knocking out power to parts of Iron Mountain.
Michigan State Police – Iron Mountain Post troopers say around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, the teen crashed into a power pole on Breitung Ave. near S. Jackson St. The driver received minor injuries and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.
Breitung Township Fire and EMS responded at the scene along with WE Energies and Spectrum. Power is now restored to Iron Mountain, according to WE Energies’ power outage map.
MSP was assisted by the Iron Mountain Police Department and Kingsford Public Safety Department.
The crash remains under investigation.
