MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Negaunee man was cited for careless driving after a crash in Marquette Township Monday morning.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 9:42 a.m. on US-41 near Northwoods Rd.
The 55-year-old man was traveling west on US-41 in a pickup truck when he failed to change lanes for an approaching tractor trailer that was also heading west. The pickup driver crashed into the trailer part of the semi. The driver of the pickup was entrapped and needed to be extricated. The passenger of the truck was taken to UP Health System – Marquette for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was cited for careless driving.
It’s unclear if the driver of the semi, a 27-year-old Marquette man, was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
